Apple Releases iOS 10.3.3 Beta 1 – Pangu’s Exploit Patched?

Postby Grace Liu » 18 May 2017 14:13

Apple has just released the first beta version of iOS 10.3.3 firmware. This new update is available for download for developers only. Let’s find out what’s new in this update and its jailbreak status.

This beta update comes just a day after the release of iOS 10.3.2 final version.

Apple has not released detailed release notes this time around. However, it is quite clear this update closes vulnerabilities and brings security improvements.

This update is only available for registered developers at the moment. If you are enrolled in Apple’s developer program, you can download and install iOS 10.3.3 beta 1 update via Apple Developer Center or OTA.

It is quite clear that Apple is rushing beta updates so they can close iOS 10.3.1’s signing window. As you know, iOS 10.3.1 is very valuable because Team Pangu have developed a working jailbreak tool for it.

Does iOS 10.3.3 Beta 1 patch pangu's exploits?
The imminent release of this beta version makes it quite clear that not all vulnerabilities were closed in iOS 10.3.2. Once iOS 10.3.1 stops being signed, a lot of users will miss out on Pangu jailbreak.

This is what Apple really wants – to stop people from jailbreaking their iOS devices.

It is possible that Apple may have patched the exploit. However, it is also possible that it still remains unpatched. This will make the wait even longer as Team Pangu will keep their jailbreak stashed.

With iOS 10.3.2 released and iOS 10.3.3 in beta, you should update as soon as possible. This will make maximize your chances of getting a jailbreak.

I’d advise you to wait it out but Apple is really upping the ante here. I’m sure updating to 10.3.1 now will pay off in the end.

As far as iOS 10.3.2 and 10.3.3 are concerned, stay away from them. DO NOT update to these versions if you want a jailbreak.
