Trouble Flashing Firmware

I have an iphone that ive been trying to flash for past few days . I cant turn the phone on when i plug it into my laptop it keeps showing the apple logo and then shuts down and few seconds later the apple logo appears again . I have been using 3utools to download the firmware and it seems when it tries to put the phone in recovery mode the phone just disconnects from the laptop , has anyone any ideas on how i could fix this cheers
