Help required

Hey,
I seem to be stuck on a restore loop, I've tried all of the tips, but it gets to 80% and fails. Same in itunes too. iPhone 5s it was working fine, tried to activate it but it wouldn't activate, when I rebooted the device it came up with the lightning cable pointing up to the itunes logo & I just seem to be going round in circles with it trying to restore it.
If anyone has any answers I'd love to hear them, as Its my sons iPhone and he's desperate for it to be working.
