iPad Air 2 stuck at 20% unmounting filesystem

Postby EnderMX » 01 Apr 2019 15:43

Hello, everyone!
So I decided to update my iPad Air 2 (Cellular) from iOS 9 to iOS 12.2 using an .ipsw.
I couldn't use iTunes because it auto-closes every time i try to update the iPad with or without the .ipsw
So I decided to use 3uTools and update the iPad from it using the retain data option.
It went pretty smoothly after mounting filesystem between 10-20% then it got stuck at mounting filesystem for over 30 mins at 20%....
Is there anyway to reverse the recovery stage on the iPad without using DFU mode and also while preserving data? or is there an alternative solution?

the iPad's capacity is 128 gb and it has a non responsive/broken home button so I can't use DFU mode.

Hello, may I know have the error screenshot on 3uTools? You mean when you restore using iTunes, your device would auto-close?

There was no error, 3uTools was stuck at 20% unmounting filesystem when I tried to update the iPad with 3uTools with the retain data option enabled. Unfortunately I dont have a screen shot since I attempted this on a work computer..
I mean, iTunes itself auto-closes when I try to update the iPad with the iTunes update option, which is why I used 3uTools

Please reinstall iTunes to restore your device, if you fail to restore your device on 3uTools or iTunes, it could be hardware problem.
