downloading age requirement

Hello, Im new to the group and am having trouble downloading apps, I choose a app then it tells me I have to be 17 to download, how does one correct this issue, as I list my age on my iPhone and Im well into my thirtys, anybody have any suggestions please and thank you, Michael
