Postby Jacob Black » 15 Dec 2016 16:10

Did you find this problem that the locking key of your Apple watch is gone after you upgraded it to watchOS 3.1.1. This is not a bug actually, Apple just place it to another position on purpose. For some Apple watch users, they do not care about this locking key. This tutorial is mainly introducing four methods for you to restore this locking key.

A: Turn off Wrist Detection

Launch Settings app on your Apple watch->click General->Wrist Detection. And they you can find this locking key in Control Center. If you turn off the Wrist Detection function, iDevices can not be detected. So when you take it off from your wrist, it can’t lock automatically. And it will cause some other problems. For instance, you can not get part activity information, Auto Unlock can not work regularly, bank cards will be removed from Apple Pay and etc.. So turn off Wrist Detection is not a smart solution.

B: Use Water Lock

You can find this functional key in Control Center, its shape is similar to water droplets. If you turn Water Lock on, it can help prevent the incorrect operations from happening on screen. If you want to use other apps or functions, you’d better turn off Water Lock first. Water Lock now only supports Watch Series 2, and it is mainly used to drain the water from speaker.

C: Lock your Apple watch using WorkOut

iFans who own the first generation of Apple Watch and Apple Watch Series 1 may try the following method. You can try to start a practice in Workout ->swipe to the right -> click Locking Key to lock the screen of your Apple watch.

D: Take off your Apple Watch from wrist and then put it on again

This is the most simplest method for you. Turn on the Wrist Detection and then take off Apple watch from wrist, wait for a few seconds and then put on it again.
