iPad Activation Lock

Hello friends this is my first post in the room, I have a issue with an iPad 2,,its on Activation lock and I have done everything possible I have been told by Apple Support in order to get it unlocked! its an iPad 2 but its new and we need it for our 5yr old grandson to use for his remote learning from home. we just cant afford a new device right now due to tough times!! besides its new and will do everything he needs. ANY help would be a Godsend!! thanks
