While WhatsApp allows users to call their friends via the app, it is also possible to record and send voice messages within a conversation. This usually comes in handy when you’re in a place where you can’t type such as while driving.
Step 1: Open the Settings app on your iPhone. Scroll down and tap on Privacy.
Step 2: Tap on Microphone.
Step 3: Here you’ll find a list of all the apps that have requested access to the microphone. Find WhatsApp in the list and toggle it off.
From now on, whenever you tap on the record button within a conversation in WhatsApp, it will no longer work. Instead, a popup appears that will request you to re-enable microphone access for WhatsApp.
